NetEase.com Reports First Quarter 2009 Results

Netease's total revenues for the first quarter of 2009 were RMB781.7 million (US$114.4 million), compared toRMB801.7 million (US$117.3 million) and RMB651.9 million (US$95.4 million) for the fourth and first quarters of 2008, respectively. 

Advertising Firm AirMedia Reports Q1 2009 Results

AirMedia Group Inc. (Nasdaq: AMCN), anoperator of out-of-home advertising platforms in China targeting mid-to-high-end consumers, reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2009.

Perfect World QoQ Revenues up 1.8%

Perfect World's (NASDAQ: PWRD) total revenues were RMB425.1 million (USD62.2 million), an increase of 1.8% from 4Q08 and 40.2% from 1Q08. Net income was RMB215.4 million (USD31.5 million), an increase of 72.6% from 4Q08 and 36.1% from 1Q08.

GigaMedia Appoints New Chairman

GigaMedia Limited (Nasdaq: GIGM) announced today that Board member Michael Ding has been appointed Chairman of the Board by the Directors of GigaMedia. Michael Ding became a member of GigaMedia's board in July 2003 and was appointed non-Executive Chairman of GigaMedia by the Board of Directors on May 14, 2009.

NetDragon Profit Up 12%

NetDragon's revenue rose 27.4% to 173.9 million RMB ($25.6 million) and profit rose 12.0% to 48.9 million RMB ($7.2 million) in Q1 2009.

KongZhong Announces Higher-Than-Expected Revenues

Total revenues for the first quarter of 2009 increased 38% year-over-year and increased 11% quarter-over-quarter to $ 29.6 million, exceeding the company's first-quarter revenue guidance of $27.5  to $28.5 million. It said 1Q09 net income was $2.52 million, a significant increase compared with 4Q08 net income of $ 0.52 million.

Zynga Releases Gamer Metrics

Zynga a developer of social games, said it is now seeing more than 10 million daily active users (DAU) across its games. The company was launced in January 2008. Last month, Zynga became the top application developer on Facebook according to AllFacebook and AppData.

Ctrip Revenues Grow 1% QoQ

For the first quarter of 2009, Chinese travel site Ctrip reported total revenues of RMB429 million (US$63 million), representing a 17% increase from the same period in 2008 and a 1% increase from the previous quarter.

NCsoft Sales up 34% Due to Aion Title

NCsoft (KSE: 036570.KS) today reported earnings results for 2009 Q1. On a consolidated basis, sales came to KRW 133.4 billion ($USD 107.7 million), operating profit KRW 42.5 billion ($USD 34.3 million), and net profit KRW 33.5 billion ($USD 27.0 million). Sales, operating profit, and net profit showed sharp escalations with an increase of 34%, 221% and 422% respectively quarter over quarter (QoQ).
