Ecommerce site Dangdang executives commented on the vicious competitive cycle that free shipping creates in China. Dangdang’s current policy is “free delivery upon a minimum 30 RMB purchase.” While Dangdang outsources its delivery, Amazon has built its own delivery team in China.
