Video Sharing Site 56.com Back in Operation by Month’s End

Video sharing site 56.com has confirmed that the site will be back in operation by month’s end. The 56.com site has been down since June 3 this year with the company claiming the shutdown was for maintenance. However, rumors spread in June that 56.com was censored by authorities for containing offensive material although 56.com claims that it closed its site due to slight malfunctions and for upgrades.

56.com will soon publish a report detailing its activities during the maintenance period. In March of this year, another video sharing Tudou was shut down for one day under the same mysterious circumstances. Rumors are that 56.com will no longer be a purely video sharing site, and will being offering widgets. However, 56.com has refused to comment on this matter.
