Number of Registered Chinese MySpace Users Surpasses 2 Million

After a slow start, Myspace China has reached 2 million registered users, according to an interview published in the WSJ.

China now ranks with Italy, Brazil, and Germany as the countries with the fastest growing number of MySpace users.  Germany has 4.5 million MySpace users and China is quickly catching up since MySpace adopted the Chinese name “Juyou” last month.

Despite its overseas expansion, MySpace is struggling to fend off competition from Facebook. Facebook is rumored to release an official Chinese version in the near future.
